A few changes on this site. First of all, RSS 2.01 feeds are
available. Not too sure about giving out full text feeds
though. Written a small script that gives out the first paragraph and
the number of words in the article of each entry as the description
in the RSS file. Too customized to be put up here. Counting the number
of words wasn't that easy as the Wiki source and the html file both
have additional tags and stuff that add to the word count. Wrote a
small Gnus
like washing function that cleans up the html.
Secondly, increased the number of entries being displayed on the main page to six. The reason, well, the logs show that most of the users are too lazy to click2.
By the way, here's an interesting piece of info from Google:
PageRank Technology: PageRank performs an objective measurement of the importance of web pages by solving an equation of more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Instead of counting direct links, PageRank interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote for Page B by Page A. PageRank then assesses a page's importance by the number of votes it receives.
500 million variables and 2 billion terms, eh?
